What is grief counselling?
Grief counselling is supportive therapy that helps you process loss at your own pace, in a space where every feeling is welcome — sadness, anger, relief, guilt, numbness, or all of them at once. It offers room to remember, to feel, and to gradually find a way to carry your loss while still moving toward a meaningful life. Grief isn't something to "get over"; it's something to be supported through.
Grief also isn't only about death. People grieve the end of relationships, lost health, estrangement, missed chances, and the futures they expected. All of it is valid, and all of it can be tended to in counselling.
Support through life transitions
Major life changes — divorce or separation, a career shift, becoming a parent, an empty nest, retirement, illness, or relocation — can stir up grief and uncertainty even when the change is something you chose. Counselling helps you make sense of the transition, work through the mixed emotions, and reconnect with who you are and what matters to you on the other side of it.
You might reach out if…
- You've lost someone or something and don't know how to hold it
- The grief feels stuck, overwhelming, or like it's getting heavier
- You're navigating a big change and feel unsteady or lost
- You're putting on a brave face but struggling underneath
- Others expect you to "be over it" and you're not
- You want a space that's just for you, with no need to protect anyone else

There's no right way to grieve
Grief isn't linear, and there's no timeline you're supposed to follow. It can arrive in waves, soften and then return, and look completely different from one person to the next. Jelena's approach is patient and compassionate — meeting you where you are, honouring your loss, and walking alongside you rather than rushing you toward "moving on."
